Today was a busy day to say the least! First, I had to get
up early and you all know how much I love doing that. However, it was very much
worth it, so I really should not complain. Meghan, Maggie and I all signed up
for the same bus tour to Dumbarton Castle and Loch Lommand Cruise. And for all
you people who do not know this is loch is the equivalent to lake in Scotland!
It is kind of sad how long that took me to figure out but I shall blame it on
lack of sleep. Our first stop was Dumbarton Castle and I must say the view was
absolutely stunning! The Castle has also been owned and used by all the major
powers of the United Kingdom at one point or another. Mary Queen of Scotts even
took refuge there for a time. It has a lot of history, which I found absolutely
fascinating. Another thing that it has a lot of is stairs, 527 to be exact and
Maggie, Meghan and I climbed every single one of them much to the dismay and
protests of our legs! :P Once, we took all our pictures which I will post later
because my camera is charging, we headed back down to the bus, which then took
us to lunch. We ate in a little café and I pigged out on a sandwhich plus hot
chocolate with marshmallows AND whip crème (Judge me how you will) and then I
finished up with a peace of Lemon Citrus Sponge Cake. It was so good; I will
definitely have to try to replicate the recipe when I get back to the states,
so I can share it with all of you lovely people at home. :D Any way after that
we enjoyed a calm cruise along loch lommand where we saw many more castles and
took a great deal more pictures. After we got back to campus, we each returned
to our flats for a while before heading out to the Queen Margaret Union for a
Cellidh, which is a traditional Scottish dance. I was very surprised that I
went because I was beat and I am generally not a huge fan of crowds, but I must
admit that I had a blast. I went with Meghan and all her flatmates, plus Fiona
and several guys who I believe are named Chris, Luke, Jake and Cole. The first
dance was a partner dance and Luke asked me if I wanted to try it out so I said
yes. And for all you people who’s mouths are hanging open to the fact that I
was actually dancing and yes with a guy please close them and continue to read,
it gets better or funnier may be a better word. We were not very good, but we
had fun all the same and about half way through Meghan and I switched partners
because Chris is Scottish and knew what to do so he showed me the proper way to
do it. Once, I got it down, it was so much fun and it was nice to realize that
I was not the worst dancer in the place, surprisingly. Any who, after that we
danced another couple, until we got to one that requires three people, so it
was Meghan, Chris and I and we were doing really well until someone spilled
their drink on the floor and guess who slipped in it. If your guess was me,
then you are correct and I completely wiped out! It was not a stumble or a
trip, no it was completely all out on the floor in the drink! I was so
mortified and bruised on top of that. I finished the dance, but then I bowed
out after that to hide and lick my wounds so to speak. After that I was pretty
much done for the night, but I stuck around and chatted for a while to get to
know people better and I am glad that I did. Overall, I had a lot of fun and I
super happy that I went out.

Today was
by far a less busy day then yesterday, which I am eternally grateful for. I
woke up this morning feeling like someone had mowed me over with a giant truck.
I guess I fell harder than I thought I did last night. Any way, I did not really
start moving until noon when Carol knocked on my door and asked me if I wanted
to go and play tennis, unfortunately I had to refuse because I did not think
that my body was up to it. I did tell her to message Maggie because I knew that
she wanted to play so her Carol and Henrique all played instead. While, they
were doing the tennis thing, I decided to go to Primark to get a dress for
tonight because we were going to another Cellidh. I was burning up last night
so I thought a dress would be more appropriate. Primark was an absolute
madhouse. People were snatching things left and right and someone even stole a
dress right from my hand! I eventually found a cute dress that did not make me
look jubby and bought it. I decided to try a different color other than blue so
I went with an orangey-red color with flowers on it. Again, I shall post the
pictures when my camera is done charging. Once, I got back from Primark, I
started getting ready for the Cellidh and I even wore make up, aren’t you
proud? :P The Cellidh tonight was at the GUU, which is the other Union on
campus and I must say I liked the Queen Margaret space better because there was
more room to dance and a clear area to drink your drinks and such. I danced a
little, but I was still pretty sore from my fall, so I did not do much. Sam was
my partner this time and we did pretty well together! I did not stay to late
because I was exhausted so Carol, Maggie and I headed back to our rooms at 11.
I know we are lame but I am just proud that I went out two nights in a row when
there were large groups of people despite that fact that they make me
uncomfortable. Any who, time for some Numbers!

Have I ever
mentioned the fact that I absolutely love art museums and galleries? Today a
group of us went to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and it was
absolutely stunning. They had all sorts of exhibits including Ancient Egyptian,
history of Scotland, wild life and different types of art. I especially liked
the exhibit which helped you look at the different types of styles of paintings
and how you can tell them apart. It also showed the process of cleaning paintings
as well as finding changes made to the paintings that were not done by the
artist at the time. It was all so cool and fascinating. I did not get to
explore half of what I wanted so I will definitely have to go back and have
another look around. Again the pictures are coming soon! Well, I am on my way
to Maggie’s to watch Lady and the Tramp so I have got to go!
